Many of the letters are incomplete, having no start and no ending. The first letter comments on Mr. Hunter's treatise on The tempest. These letters appear to complement the series of letters from Elizabeth Barrett to Miss Mitford, edited by B. Miller, 1954. Includes watercolour portrait of Miss Mitford.

Elizabeth Barrett Browning was an English poet and translator. Born on March 6, 1806, Barrett Browning became proficient in Greek, Latin, French, and other European languages.
